Barry Weiss and ‘Storage Wars’

Women love him; he has fans starting from the age of 6 to 66! We are talking about none other than Barry Weiss. A name that was not so popular some years back has today a Facebook fan page after his name.

Barry Weiss, don’t confuse him with the music producer Barry Weiss. The two are not related to each other in any way.

The Barry Weiss we are talking about is the life of the show ‘Storage Wars’ that is an American reality show that was first premiered in 2010 on the A&E network. This show today is one of the biggest hit and the credit goes to Barry Weiss and his entertaining ways that gives the show high ratings.

Barry Weiss is a Capricorn and spent 25 years of his life in the business of fruits and vegetables. He and his brother owned a company ‘Northern Produce’ from which Barry retired but his brother still runs it and is the CEO.

Barry Weiss has lived all his life in Los Angeles. He married but got divorced 30 years back. He has two kids.

He presently lives in Los Angeles in his spacious mansion of luxurious four bedrooms on which it is said he spent $1.4 million. He is even the owner of many properties.

Barry Weiss has $9 million as his net wealth and most of the money is attached to his collection of antiques. Barry Weiss is said to be having Hollywood links too.

He has an impressive collection of car. His most amazing and most famous car too of Los Angeles is Custom Cowboy Cadillac of 1947.

He is often seen driving it on the smash hit show “Storage Wars”. Barry Weiss went to auctions when he was just 15 and now it seems that even when he is in his 60s, his thirst of collecting antiques has not been quenched.

Barry Weiss on every auction is seen driving one of his exotic cars. The caustic and witty one liners that he says on “Storage Wars” and his carefree attitude is something that characterizes him on the show.

People love him for his approach of ‘anything goes’ and are mad about the intensity with which he does things on the show. What makes him stand tall from the rest of the crowd is the fact that he knows how to have fun out there.

Barry knows that his fans love him for the very attitude he has and does his best to keep it going. Barry Weiss on the show ‘Storage Wars’ keeps doing stuff that annoys his fellow competitors and he admits that this is what inspires him and gives him pleasure.

His psychic ways are something that makes the show hit among masses. Barry Weiss says that like the other characters on the show he does not make much money because he mostly keeps all the items that he wins on the show.

He walked in the show for having fun and this is exactly we see him having.

What Is Barry Weiss's Net Worth?

Although Barry Weiss’s net worth is estimated to be close to $9 million, he easily gets annoyed, and quite frequently at that, whenever there is a loss of money to him on the show Storage Wars. It is most likely his passion for antiques and his dedicated business sense that ignites such an aggressive attitude in Barry.

Loss seems to be unacceptable to him. Loss does not suit Barry Weiss’s personality.

His treasure-hunting ways have made him a popular and sought after figure in California. Incidentally, it is in Commerce, California that Barry Weiss and his brother Joey Weiss started their wholesale import export business of selling and buying fruits and vegetables.

Barry was into the wholesale grocery business for almost 25 years. He retired a wealthy man.

With his profound financials, it was possible for him to go around the world collecting object old and exotic. He most prized treasures include his sizable collection of cars.

The car he frequents the most on the show is the 1947 Custom Cowboy Cadillac, designed by none other than the renowned Frank DeRosa. The story goes that Barry Weiss was so taken in by the unfinished tribal paint job on the Custom Cowboy Cadillac that he sold his “King of Mercs” (another renowned car designed by the legendary Frank DeRosa) just to buy the incomplete Cadillac.

He took it in and customized and repainted the car as per his will, though retained the basic tribal paint. His other trademarks on the show include the extremely rare-collector’s-edition of a pair of slightly tinted West Coast Choppers eye gear, the white and black skeleton like gloves which gives him an impression of a magician and his slick and polished grey hair.

Barry’s most revered trademark style statement is his sardonic yet aggressive attitude which is the highlight of the show. The show has been rated as A&E’s most successful show as of yet.

All credit goes to Barry and his eccentricities. Barry Weiss has had a fancy for collectibles since he was 15. He had been visiting auctions and started bidding at a young age.

Now in his mid-60s, his passion still has not dies down. If anything, it has hiked up to a completely new high.
The other co-contestants on the show are “The Young Guns”, “The Moguls”, and “The Gambler”. Barry is, by his own admission, the only one on the show who is not in it for the financial tempts, but rather for the delight of the treasure hunt!

The Cars and Trucks of Barry Weiss

The reason many people are addicted to the show ‘Storage Wars’ is none another but the real star of the show, Barry Weiss himself. Sure, the concept of the show is quite interesting and novel.

But if it was not for this man, it is hard to say if the show would be where it is today! The fifty something Barry Weiss has already become an icon on American television and is all set to have his very own show!

For those who are not too acquainted with ‘Storage Wars’, Barry Weiss is one of the bidders who bid on the storage lockers that are auctioned, on the show itself. So, why does this specific person deserve special mention and why is it that he has thousands of fans and followers in so short a time?

The answer is easy to understand for any person who watches the show on A&E regularly. Barry Weiss is unique to say the least!

It would not even be wrong to say that he is a little eccentric and quirky in his own right. After all, he does exactly what he wants and how he wants and doesn’t are a bit about what his competitors have to say about it.

From bringing little people on stilts to bringing psychics on ‘Storage Wars’, Barry Weiss has done it all. Each episode is a treat for his fans as they never know what this man will do next.

The same can also be said about his competitors on the show. Among them, Barry even had a major ongoing clash with Dave Hester, aka ‘The Mogul’.

Barry Weiss nicknamed ‘The Collector’ on the show, truly does not care what people think of his curious antics. It’s this attitude if his that seems to not sit too well with Dave Hester.

Apart from these, there is another big reason for Barry Weiss’ popularity. That would be his many cars, trucks as well as bikes.

He seems to have a unique collection of rare and awe inspiring cars that his fans often get to see on the show. He lands up in a different one almost each day of the ‘Storage Wars’.

Let us find a little more about the cars and trucks that Barry Weiss owns. The question that most people would like to have answered is that how many cars does Barry actually own?

Well, to say the truth, not all of the cars that he rides on the show are his own. For example, the curious yellow chicken car that Barry Weiss has rode on a particular episode of ‘Storage Wars’ does not actually belong to him.

Bit, he does own several cars and trucks himself. It has been approximated that the number that he actually owns is five.

Of course, he also buys and sells them quite often and so, it is rather difficult to mention an exact number at a particular instance of time. Among the ones that he owns, the Red International Truck is said to be his favourite.

In fact, Barry has often claimed that he will not be selling this car. The most famous one is however, the Cowboy Cadillac.

Any person who has seen the car on the show would know why it is so popular. Not only is it custom made, it looks like it is more appropriate on the set of a high tech film.

Apart from this, Barry Weiss is also the proud owner of a Beatnik Hot Rod, a vintage Ford etc. This is all about Barry Weiss’ cars and trucks in short.
